Why my dogs are the best

So I am a serious animal lover. It is slightly embarrassing but even watching those ASPCA commercials make me tear up. Dogs are my favorite and a house isn't a home to me without dogs running around. I love having dogs for so many reasons. My boys, Jax and Gus are loyal, loving, silly, sweet, and are ALWAYS happy to see me. This week my dogs were particularly hilarious and I will share just 2 of these moments with you.

Moment #1: Mase and I went out to run a quick errand and came back to find this.
Jax had gotten into a almost completely full box of cereal. When we came in he was just standing there wagging his tail with the almost empty box stuck on his head.

Moment #2: I am fairly clumsy and often times it leads to me making a mess, and dogs come in very handy with cleanup. But this time I spilled a bowl of peas and was bumming because I didn't think the dogs would go for it. Boy was I wrong, they even like vegetables!

Wedding Weekend

This weekend I had the chance to do a wedding for an adorable couple.
They were married in the Los Angeles Temple and their reception was here in Long Beach. In addition to the decorations and flowers I was the wedding day coordinator so I had very little time in all my running around to snap very many photos, so they will be coming later from the photographers. My house smelled amazing and I kept the a/c cranking for 2 days to keep these babies fresh.
After hours of work these turned into bouquets, corsages, centerpieces, etc. And something new that I tried were these little hair clips for the flower girls.
I seriously love weddings! It was so fun to be apart of their special day and I will post more pics when I get them : )

And I quote... "Dude, craigslist is insane!"

So the last month or so, I have been trying to sell Mason's truck, to no avail. With the truck and my old 97 Jetta sitting in driveway I decided that I needed to sell at least one of them before I had to pay another months worth of insurance for both cars! I have been hesitant to sell my Jetta mainly because I love it and it has sentimental value and I would much rather drive it around LA than that monster truck, but moving on... So I decided to at least list the Jetta on Craigslist, just see if I even got any hits on it. I had no idea what would follow...

5pm: Posted Jetta on CL

5:15pm: Calls start coming in. (I would say 1 call or text every 5 minutes.)

6pm: Met prospective buyer to show the car

6:15pm: Signed over a title

6:30pm: Walked back through my front door with cash in my hand.

Holy smokes! I didn't have even a minute to be sentimental, but I guess its better to just rip off the band-aid. I called my husband to tell him about my productive evening and his response was this..."Dude, craigslist is insane!"

Well said Mase.

Dreaming with Serene

So I have a friend named Serene. She is pretty much awesome and while the move to Long Beach has made our girls nights a little trickier, we make it work and it is always so much fun! This week she introduced me to a little something called Dream Dinners. It has been around for a while, I am just totally out of the loop, but basically it allows you to prepare fresh, yummy meals that you store in your freezer. They have a great selection of meals to choose from, then once you are there you measure everything out and package it up. The store was super clean and the people were extremely nice, all in all a great experience and I look forward to going back . While I don't think mine will look quite as nice as these photos...I will update you guys once I make a few of the meals!

Another Project Done!

Since moving into our little house 8 months ago (renting of course) I have been working on getting each room done. I finally got a big project done in our bedroom that I am excited about. I ordered some of the fabrics online so I wasn't quite sure how it would all look. But I really like the way it turned out. Here are the fabrics I chose.
I made the headboard with a board and some upholstery foam and then just recovered the pillows from my last bedroom set.
I also got this adorable bench off of craigslist and recovered it to finish off the bed. I still have a ways to go for the rest of the room, but this was a big part of it!

Utah for the 4th! Yay!

So we had the opportunity to go take a trip to Utah for the 4th of July. I really do love Utah in the summer time and I got to do so many of my favorite things while I was there! We got to see both my family who lives there and Mason's family who was at Aspen Grove for a family vacation. Here is a quick recap of our adventures...

We spent the evening at Riverwoods (which has been totally redone since my last visit, and looks awesome). We ate at the restaurant where my sister works, and it was delicious.
Then we headed over to the Provo Town Resort for some arcade games.
Of course we had to show off our awesome prizes!
I also got to hang out with my sister and all of her musical friends. I pretty much just sat there in awe of their talent and got to listen to some seriously amazing voices. To get to Aspen Grove from where my parents live, you drive through AF Canyon. It was such a beautiful drive, especially in the rain. Mason got to do a ropes course with his family at Aspen Grove, which was pretty awesome.

We ate at kneaders for breakfast and lunch. So yummy, they seriously need to open one in LA!
For those of you who have never been to UT for the 4th, you really should. This was my first time attending the Stadium of Fire and it was amazing! The performances were fun but the fireworks is what you go for. Here is Mase with our adorable niece.
It is the best fireworks show I have been to!I also got to see my dear friend Red Rachel! It was a short visit but still so awesome to catch up, we strolled the Utah Arts Festival which was very interesting. There were all sorts of random items throughout the festival that were knitted over, which I thought was hilarious. I swear that Cafe Rio tastes better in UT. Maybe its the altitude?
I don't know what it is for sure, but maybe because I got to eat it with my sisters! (We are missing one sister...Love you J!)

We also got to attend the wedding of a good family friend. She was such a beautiful bride and it was awesome to see the whole Smith Family!
